• book 10 will be released June 2017
• it will be a new series - SPX is not a one-off book and we’ll find out more about exactly how many more books there’ll be in the coming months; new series will henceforth be referred to as “phase 2″ for ease
• plot has been in the works for a while now and has been planned out in intricate detail; this new series was first conceived mid-LSODM writing 
  
• set a few months after val returns to ireland; “she’s still trying to adjust”
  
• new male main character named “omen darkly”; he’s a sorcerer born into magic, giving a deeper insight into the culture and traditions of the magical community 
• dexter vex and saracen rue will return
• not all surviving characters from the original series will, however
• valkyrie will be 24 in the new book
• xena will still be around
• alice will also feature (now six years old!)
• tanith confirmed to return but will not appear in every new book, as she’s busy fighting off her own inner demons following her remnant posession
• the book will maintain a similar tone (and target demographic) as TDOTL, but valkyrie’s POV chapters will be somewhat more “adult”
• a lot of unanswered questions from phase 1 will be answered in future books; darquesse’s fate, saracen’s power, val’s blood, etc.
• roarhaven will play a large part in phase 2, and so will the relationship between the magical community and the mortal world
• the storyline will possibly take val, skul and omen on international adventures
